The 'Dateline' TV Diet Challenge: Hypnosis Works!
In April, 2003, Dateline TV put six people on six different diets to see which weight loss plan worked the best. They picked from six weight loss methods: the Atkins Diet, Weight Watchers, Slim Fast, extreme exercise, a personal weight loss trainer, and 'Hypnosis'.
After 1 week, the results were: Gio, who picked the Slim Fast diet, gained 3 pounds; Lynne, who picked heavy exercise, had no change; Kathy, who picked Weight Watchers, lost 4.8 pounds; Eleanor, who picked having a famous weight loss coach, lost 3 pounds; Rick, with the Atkins Diet, lost 13 pounds; Marc with Hypnosis, lost 13 pounds.
This is substantial proof that Hypnosis Works!
And after 3 months, Marc, who used hypnosis, lost the second most weight- 40 pounds! Hypnosis was shown to be very effective and work quickly!
What I think is very important and a valuable judge of the 'quality of life' that results from which weight loss plan is picked, is the struggle or ease of living with the individual plans.
For example, Gio, on the Slim Fast Diet, admitted that he felt like he was starving and felt hungry most of the day. Kathy, on Weight Watchers, was disappointed because she had to starve all week, and Rick, on the Atkins Diet, had some diet-related problems, including headaches and severe constipation.
But on the positive side, Marc, who picked Hypnosis, became super motivated, got himself a fitness trainer, religiously listened to the hypnosis tapes, and only wanted to eat healthy foods! He seems to be the happiest of all the participants. I think this says a lot for the quality of life under a hypnosis weight management plan. And this is a weight management plan that is not just a 'short-term fad diet', but is a long-term weight mastery lifestyle!
After a year, the final results of Dateline TV's Weight Loss Challenge showed that Hypnosis can help with weight loss.
The components of a successful weight loss program that can be summarized from the Dateline TV's report are:
1. Hypnotism successfully uses 'Positive Hypnotic Suggestions' that focus on healthy eating, exercise, and positive lifestyle changes.
2. 'Emotional eating' behaviors need to be addressed, so that food is not used as the answer to cope with life's problems.
3. Emotional clearing of subconscious overeating behavior is important.
4. Hypnosis tapes and routine hypnosis tune-ups are helpful.
5. An exercise program with strength training and aerobic exercise is beneficial.
6. Sensible eating is a must: healthy food choices, proper portion size, etc.
